Six Shooter - Old Time Radio
Vintage Radio: Western

Six Shooter

The Six Shoot was a superb and popular western series broadcast on NBC from 1953 to 1954. Created by Frank Burt, who also wrote several episodes, the series lasted only one season for a total of 39 episodes. James Stewart starred as the main character Britt Ponsett, a drifting cowboy in the final years of the wild west.

The episodes in The Six Shooter range from pure western drama to sit-com liked comedy. A trademark of the show is the main character's narration during many nerve-wrecking scenes, which often creates a heightened sense of climax and relief when the situation is resolved.
